The year-long preparations for the clothing collection were nearing completion - the presentation at Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week. Even before the models appeared on the catwalk, we had a full day of photo shoots in the studio, where a visual portfolio of clothing was created for students and for the PR needs of the Department of Design and the InterBridge project. A professional team, a photographer, a make-up artist, models from the agency and our design team - all of this together created the atmosphere that I want to bring to your attention.

On Wednesday, August 27, clothes were being prepared in the Prague studio Cash Only since morning, the lighting was adjusted and the beautiful models were becoming even more beautiful under the hands of makeup artist Jana Darmovzalová. Photographer Daniel Harvan, together with our main designer Zuzana Veselá, were looking for ideal poses and light so that the clothes would stand out in all their originality. Student Lada Mačková carefully ironed and prepared the dresses, Kateřina Klozová assisted with changing, and I documented the atmosphere backstage. Charming models Adéla Drozdová and Tereza Kadičová, hired through a modeling agency, demonstrated not only professionalism but also great endurance, as they spent the whole day in demanding poses and in high heels. At the same time, they only had small snacks available – nuts, fruit or cookies. But you know, models cannot just treat themselves to a big plate during a photo shoot, so that it is not immediately noticeable on their stomachs or energy while posing. So while I was constantly nibbling, drinking and chewing, the models could only take a bite here and there and sip water to last. I admired their discipline and endurance all the more.
It was interesting to watch the professional cooperation of everyone present – from the make-up artist to the photographer, to the well-coordinated team of our three textile designers. The collection itself did not come about overnight – students of the Department of Design of the Faculty of Textiles at TUL worked on it for a whole year as part of their bachelor's theses under the methodological guidance of Zuzana Veselá and in cooperation with our colleagues from the Technical University of Chemnitz.
The entire photo shoot took place just ten days before the show itself. However, according to the rules of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week, nothing can be published in advance – there would be a risk of really high fines. That's why we had to keep everything under wraps and I couldn't wait to share the photos and impressions with you. I believe that you will also feel the focused and professional atmosphere of that August day in the studio from our gallery below the article. We will soon add a report from the show itself, stay tuned :-)
