About the event
Veronika Souralová (*July 10, 1968)* is a renowned Czech photographer who specializes in macro photography. She focuses her lenses on the fascinating world of insects and reveals their hidden beauty in the smallest details. Her photographs combine aesthetic sensitivity with deep respect for life in its smallest forms. It is not just a technical record of details, but above all a celebration of beauty and a fascinating insight into the microscopic world.
She also shares her art of capturing insects up close in books, such as "One Day in an Anthill" (Mladá fronta 2004), "Talking to Butterflies" (Mladá fronta 2010), "The Bee House - Holidays in the Hive" (CPRESS 2014) or "Stories from the Grass" (CPRESS 2019), which are mainly intended for children, but also appeal to lovers of macro photography thanks to their beautiful photographs.
Since 2016, Veronika Souralová has been the director of the prestigious Czech Press Photo competition, which annually awards the best photos in the field of photojournalism.
